The Grand Primo, Bro Brian Foot ROH has chosen to support the charity ”KIDS” during his term of office in 2014.
“The Charity which I am supporting this year and asking you all to support as well is KIDS. They were formed in 1970 to help young Disabled Children and their families to enjoy life and also to help the children to achieve their true potential and aspirations in life. They run a number of projects like playgrounds that have been designed with the disabled children in mind, nurseries, short overnight break centers and are working in partnership with parents to give them support and advice so that they can give the disabled children a better outlook in life. Some of their funding comes from providing specific commissioned services for local authorities, the rest is made up of voluntary donations and all their income is used for the work of the charity. Over the years the Order has given tremendous support to any Appeal and I would ask you to support this worthwhile charity.” – Bro Brian Foot ROH G.P 2014 – Grand Lodge Meeting, November 2013

Below is a brief description of ‘KIDS” taken from the ‘About Us’ section of their website.
”KIDS is a leading disabled children’s charity that has been in existence for over 40 years working to enable disabled children and young people and their families to enjoy their lives.
We work with children and young people from birth to the age of 25 who are disabled; that is they have a physical, sensory or mental impairment (including mental health issues) which in interaction with social, attitudinal and environmental constraints creates barriers which hinder their full and equal participation in society. Our work is also with the individuals who are affected by this situation (such as families and young carers).
Our continuing belief is that:
And our ethos is to work in partnership with parents and carers to enable disabled children and young people to develop their skills and abilities and to fulfil their potential, hopes and aspirations.”
